The Readiness Subcommittee consists of elected Public Health Service officers and Civil Service members who meet monthly to achieve the outcomes of their annual work plan.

Workgroups

Marketing and Communications: This work group identifies initiatives and develops action plans that focus outreach efforts on raising awareness and educating a wide audience about the response capabilities of USPHS Environmental Health Officers.

Officer Readiness: The Officer Readiness workgroup works closely with the Chief Professional Officer, OFRD, and individual officers to aid environmental health officers maintaining basic readiness status. Their tasks include: coordinating readiness improvement efforts on behalf of the CPO, assisting EHOs with any questions pertaining to their readiness status, and trending readiness data to ascertain any systemic obstacles to officers meeting and maintaining basic readiness status.

Resources Workgroup: This workgroup identifies, maintains and updates resources that can be utilized by Environmental Health Officers that are deployed by OFRD. During the past year the Resources Workgroup has reviewed and revised the "EHO Go-kit", the Workgroup is currently revising the EHO Readiness Guide. Planned future projects include reviewing and revising the Deployment Resource CD.
